¿Belleza?

From time to time, I ask myself the same questions: what is Art?, what is it useful for? I never find an answer, but if Art has accompanied Human Beings since their first steps, throughout all Times, and in all Cultures, it has to be for something. It doesn't provide anything tangible: it isn't useful for eating, nor drinking... On the contrary, it consumes time, effort, and resources... So, what does it give us? Beauty? New visions of a quotidian world? New ideas, new ways of thinking, feeling, doing and living? Maybe it would be better to go around the issue. Maybe Art, with its encouragement to innovate (it's pure innovation), is one of the keys to Human progress. The relationship between Art and the amazing adaptability of our species could be closer that it appears.
Today's Human Being runs forward, his speed increasing constantly. He escapes from himself, from his limited and mortal nature, and in doing so, he self-dehumanizes. Not satisfied with being dehumanized, he claims to be the "Center of the Universe" and self-confers the right to humanize all and to appropriate all. So the monstrous appears. If he looks inside himself, he finds a ruined landscape. If he looks to the outside, he finds a decaying world. Win!, buy!, enrich yourself!, you are more valuable if you have more!, we are told from above. Long live the Welfare Society! Hypocrisy, Masquerades, Materialism ... Unable to respect anything and unable to respect ourselves, proud of our ignorance, back to our smallness, our delusions transformed into Universal Truths, we corrupt the concept of God and transform Him into a commodity, a lever of power. We embark on Sacred Crusades that only serve to advance the frontiers of Hell. We are just ridiculous Knights of the Absurdity. And the result? There it is, coming up, inexorably: climate change, war, famine, death, environmental degradation, desolation, misery ...Before us, a new phenomenon: developed countries that are now in decline, losing their previously higher standard of living. The dream of Universal Freedom, Prosperity and Peace has crashed. So much technology for this? Nature (to which we have never ceased to belong) rebels. Its immune response begins, and we are the disease.
But we aren't yet defeated. Let's review what doesn't work, let's reinvent our world, let's fight ... After all, Art is still with us.
